We got many requests for a video on our hairstyle called "The Switchback". It's a simple concept, just make sure you have lots of bobby pins ready to go.
This is one of my personal favorite hairstyles because it's so fast, holds well and creates curls for the following day. The original post is found here: Barrel Roll Bun.
Here are the pictures of the completed bun:
We put some decorative hairpins in for church.
You can see that we've used a pretty high ponytail so that the bun is right at the crown of the head.
You can use smaller sections of hair to create more rolls.
We've done pretty large rolls here just because of time reasons but I love the look of both.
Remember to have your bobby pins handy because you will definitely need them!
This is a fun hairstyle that is really quite simple but takes a couple times doing it to get used to the flow of it. The original post on this is here: Angel Halo.
We had a bunch of requests for this video so we got right to work on making it. Hopefully it is helpful for you. This is the original hairstyle: Bottom Braids & Bun. I apologize that the video is a bit dark. I will make sure that I don't stand between the window and my princess again. :)
This give you a nice view of the French Braids on the bottom.
Like I said in the video, the hairstyle will never look exactly the same way twice.
*This is the last one we filmed on this dark background so you will hopefully be able to see future videos better! Sorry I didn't think of that earlier!*
This one is a unique braid that we call The Cubed Braid because it has four equal sides that each have the appearance of a 3-Strand Braid. It's fairly simple and hopefully the video doesn't make it seem too confusing.
We've also included some pictures of the finished product.
Notice the 4 equal sides to the braid.
I produced some really pretty waves when it was taken out also.
Don't forget to change where you are splitting your middle section so that the braid holds together tightly.
It's Friday again! Today we wanted to flashback to The Quad. We had lots of questions on this one originally and it's a braid that we use ALL THE TIME! People always stop us and ask how we did that so here are the instructions:
Hopefully that helps a bit and makes some more sense. The first couple times I did it, I was really slow but after a few times it comes very naturally. Good luck!
*I have added a fun new Button on the side bar so feel free to grab it and attach to your blog!*
Hooray for videos! This is our first "Friday's Film" and we're excited to get lots more out there for you. (Make sure you let us know which hairstyles you want to see.) I must say that I'm not a fan of my voice and my little princess and I are not perfect during our filming but hopefully these videos will help some of you with the hairstyles! (I also apologize for my fumbling about - I have to say that I do get a bit nervous in front of a camera - guess I better get used to it huh!)
We had several requests for a video on on our Bedtime Braids that we posted last week so here it is:
We also experimented with making these braids "French".
Here is a picture of what it looks like.
Just make sure you switch which side you do your double wrap on when you move to your other half of hair so that the braids will look even.
When you're done adding in hair you can just finish off the braid with the traditional Bedtime Braid from above.
Here is the video for this one:
I promise we'll try to get better with the videos and we will for sure have another one next Friday!
Hi there, I've figured out the video problem and it's all fixed! I'm going to be starting a new weekly post called "Friday's Film" and there will be an instructional video on a hairstyle every Friday. Please let me know some of the hairstyles you are interested in seeing and I will get to work on my princess's hair! :) Please identify them by the post title so that I will know exactly which one has been requested. Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments and I apologize that the videos have been so long in coming! :)
We've been getting lots of requests for this so here it is. Next time I should probably not be in my pajamas! :) I didn't think I was in the shot... so sorry. We are new to this whole posting a video thing. I'm also sorry that the quality isn't excellent. Hopefully this will help some of you that have been asking about this hairstyle. (Don't mind my princess pulling faces in the middle of it. One of them looks as though she's wincing in pain but I assure you that isn't the case - she's just a goof ball.)
See, I told you it was really quite simple! Just have yout elastics ready, your Topsy Tail and comb handy and make sure the hair is wet.
(P.S.) Topsy Tails can be bought on Ebay if you can't find one. Any of them work but the Scunci ones seem to be the strongest.
